Positive Break-In and Arrest in Walmer: Atlas Security Response in Action

Crime

This afternoon, Atlas Security received a call from a vigilant neighbour in Prospect Road, Walmer, reporting suspicious activity at a property nearby. Two suspects were seen entering the yard and forcing open containers housing construction workers’ tools. Their bold attempt to escape with stolen goods was swiftly interrupted by the timely intervention of Atlas Security’s response teams.

Upon receiving the alert, Armed Response Officer B72 was dispatched to the scene and successfully apprehended the suspects with some of the stolen items still in their possession. Officer B2 also stood down to provide backup, ensuring the situation was securely managed.

Further inspection revealed that the suspects had also stolen air-conditioning units from the containers and bent the burglar bars in their attempt to gain entry.

The stolen goods were recovered and returned to the rightful owner, and the suspects were handed over to law enforcement for further investigation.

This incident highlights the critical importance of community vigilance and the role of professional armed response teams in ensuring safety. A quick phone call from an observant neighbour, combined with the rapid action of Atlas Security’s officers, led to the recovery of stolen property and the arrest of the culprits.

Atlas Security remains committed to protecting the community, one response at a time. If you see something suspicious, don’t hesitate to report it. Together, we can make a difference in Nelson Mandela Bay.
