Atlas Security Terms And Conditions
Current as of December 2, 2024
1) Acceptance
By accessing www.atlas24.co.za/ or any Atlas Security digital channel (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2) What we do
Atlas Security promotes South Africa’s dried-fruit category, publishes industry information, educational content, recipes, campaign material, and may host surveys, events, and promotions/competitions. Atlas Security is not a retailer and does not sell products via this Site. (This mirrors how SA fruit bodies position themselves publicly.)
3) Informational content only (no advice)
Site content is provided for general information and consumer education. It is not technical, agricultural, nutritional, medical, or legal advice. Always consult an appropriate professional before acting on information. (Similar disclaimers are used by HORTGRO.)
4) Accuracy & availability
We work to keep information current but do not warrant completeness, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We may modify or withdraw content or services at any time without notice.
5) Your responsibilities
You must not misuse the Site (introduce malware, attempt unauthorised access, scrape at scale, or infringe IP). You are responsible for ensuring your device and connection are secure and POPIA-compliant where you process third-party personal data. (POPIA governs personal information handling.)
6) Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, all content on the Site—including copy, graphics, logos, videos, trademarks, datasets, and downloadable materials—is owned by Atlas Security or licensed to Atlas Security. You may download one copy for personal, non-commercial use with attribution. No other use (including republication, commercial exploitation, training AI models, data mining, or derivative works) without prior written consent.
7) Third-party links & tools
The Site may link to producer/retailer sites, social platforms, analytics tools, or media players. These are provided for convenience; Atlas Security is not responsible for their content, privacy/security, or availability. Review their terms and privacy notices before use. (Industry bodies routinely link outward and disclaim control.)
8) Competitions & promotions
From time to time, Atlas Security may run promotions/competitions. Each activity will have specific rules (eligibility, entries, judging/random draw, prizes, dates, how winners are contacted, publicity consent, disqualification, and promoter details). Where rules conflict, the promotion-specific rules prevail. Atlas Security may publish anonymised or first-name/initial winner details unless you lawfully object under POPIA. (POPIA governs lawful basis and objections.)
9) User submissions (comments, emails, uploads)
If you post, upload, or email content to Atlas Security (e.g., testimonials, recipes, images), you grant Atlas Security a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and communicate such content for category-promotion purposes (with your moral rights respected). You warrant you own the content and it does not infringe others’ rights or contain unlawful, hateful, or misleading material. We may moderate or remove content at our discretion.
10) Privacy & cookies
Processing of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you acknowledge cookie use and consent choices captured via our cookie banner/preferences. (POPIA requires transparency and, for direct-marketing cookies, consent.)
11) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Atlas Security and its officers, employees, agents, advisors, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from use of—or inability to use—the Site or content, even if foreseeable. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death/personal injury caused by our negligence.
12) Indemnity
You indemnify Atlas Security against claims, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Site.
13) Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if you breach these Terms or applicable laws, or where required for security or compliance.
14) Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
15) Changes
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date.
