As May 2025 came to a close, Nelson Mandela Bay faced a range of safety and security incidents. From 26 to 31 May, 82 incidents were reported across the city. The most common types included:
- Theft – 24 cases
- Medical emergencies – 14
- Confirmed burglaries – 12
- Attempted burglaries – 10
- Attempted theft – 9
Atlas Security officers successfully made 16 arrests, thanks to fast response times and coordinated action with local law enforcement.
The suburbs most affected were:
- Walmer – 10 incidents
- Newton Park – 9
- North End – 5
Meanwhile, suburbs like Humewood, Algoa Park, and Rowallan Park were among the least affected, each recording just one incident for the week.
29 May 2025 stood out as the busiest day, with 19 incidents reported.
