July 2025 Incident Report: Community Insights
As July draws to a close, we’ve taken a detailed look at the month’s incident stats across the Atlas Security footprint. Here’s what stood out, how July compared to June, and what this means for our community.
Incidents in Numbers:
- Total Incidents: 427
- June Comparison: 435
- Change: A decrease of 1.8% from the previous month
Most Affected Areas:
Walmer once again saw the highest number of incidents with 33 cases, followed by Summerstrand (29) and Central (22). Other active areas included Sidwell, Bothasrus, and Greenshields Park.
What Kept Us Busy?
Theft topped the list in July, with 140 reported cases. Medical emergencies came next at 77. We also responded to 56 attempted thefts, 55 attempted burglaries, and 51 confirmed burglaries. Robberies, assaults, house robberies, and armed robberies were less frequent but remain a focus for our teams.
Arrests Made:
Atlas Security officers made 17 arrests during July, reflecting our ongoing commitment to protecting our clients and the community.
Quieter Suburbs:
Several suburbs experienced only one or two reported incidents, including Forest Hill, Richmond Hill, Bluewater Bay, and Lovemore Heights, to name a few.
What Does This Mean?
