Successful Arrest During Burglary at Kariega School
Crime

Atlas Securityโs swift response and collaboration with the Kariega SAPS K9 Unit led to the arrest of a suspect during a burglary at two neighbouring schools on the same premises.
The incident began when Atlas Securityโs Control Centre received alarm signals, prompting the dispatch of U2 to investigate. Upon arrival, B131 discovered that perpetrators were hiding inside the roof of one of the schools. U2 quickly communicated the situation to the Control Centre, which dispatched additional support in the form of U1 (B11).
While en route, U1 contacted the SAPS K9 Unit for assistance. Shortly thereafter, two K9 units, HE2 and HE4, arrived to support the operation. Together with SAPS, Atlas Security officers initiated a thorough search of the premises.
B11 and B131 gained access to the roof, where one suspect attempted to escape but was swiftly blocked and redirected towards the SAPS K9 officers. The suspect was ultimately located inside the ceiling of a storeroom and apprehended by the Sergeant's K9 dog. Despite a comprehensive search, no additional suspects were found on the premises. However, the arrested individual confirmed he had not acted alone. The suspects went from classroom to classroom making holes in each ceiling.
During the search, officers recovered two bags filled with school stationery and books, presumably prepared for removal by the burglars.
