The incident unfolded at Gustav Preller Street, where a non-client reported on a private social media group that a suspect was stealing copper pipes from the backyard of a property.
Atlas Security Armed Response Officer Bravo 11 was immediately dispatched, arriving on the scene within minutes. The complainant confirmed that a male suspect—wearing a light green shirt, white pants, and black shoes—had stolen approximately three meters of copper piping before fleeing the scene.

SAPS member provided further assistance in transporting the suspect to the police station. A formal theft case was registered, and SAPS Detectives later confirmed that the suspect was linked to multiple theft and burglary cases.
