Alarming SAPS Case Statistics

A concerning trend continues to emerge—93 of the 133 incidents reported this week were NOT opened as official SAPS cases. This means that only 24 cases were taken forward for formal investigation. The lack of SAPS case reporting significantly affects the ability of law enforcement to track, investigate, and ultimately prosecute criminals. We strongly urge the community to report incidents to SAPS to ensure that justice is served and criminals face the consequences of their actions.

Outstanding Arrest Rate

Despite the challenges, Atlas Security officers delivered 27 arrests over the past week. This outstanding arrest rate demonstrates our relentless pursuit of criminals and our dedication to keeping our communities safe. These arrests are a direct result of swift response times, strategic operations, and the vigilance of our security personnel.

A Call to Action

We encourage all residents and business owners to remain alert, report suspicious activity, and open cases with SAPS when incidents occur. Partnering with Atlas Security ensures a proactive approach to crime prevention, but community involvement remains a crucial part of the fight against crime.

Atlas Security remains steadfast in our mission to protect and serve. We will continue to stand as the first line of defence, ensuring that criminals know there is no room for crime in our communities!

Increased Business Break-Ins: Why Active Keyholders Are More Important Than Ever

December 23, 2025

Atlas Security has recently seen a sharp increase in business break-ins, particularly within industrial areas. Factories, warehouses and commercial premises that are closed after hours are increasingly being targeted by opportunistic criminals who know these sites are often quiet and unattended. During several recent incidents, our Control Room has experienced difficulty contacting registered keyholders when alerts are activated. In some instances, phones go unanswered or no keyholder is available to attend site when access is required. This significantly slows the response process and in high-risk incidents, delays increase exposure and risk.
