Alarming SAPS Case Statistics
A concerning trend continues to emerge—93 of the 133 incidents reported this week were NOT opened as official SAPS cases. This means that only 24 cases were taken forward for formal investigation. The lack of SAPS case reporting significantly affects the ability of law enforcement to track, investigate, and ultimately prosecute criminals. We strongly urge the community to report incidents to SAPS to ensure that justice is served and criminals face the consequences of their actions.

Despite the challenges, Atlas Security officers delivered 27 arrests over the past week. This outstanding arrest rate demonstrates our relentless pursuit of criminals and our dedication to keeping our communities safe. BUSINESS BREAK-IN STOPPED IN ITS TRACKS: SWARTKOPS
December 26, 2025
On the evening of 23 December 2025, Atlas Security’s Control Room detected suspicious movement via live CCTV monitoring at a business premises in Swartkops, triggering a swift, coordinated response. Live CCTV footage revealed a male dressed in dark clothing moving around the guard house, before entering the premises and sprinting toward the factory roof. Moments later, Bravo 20 confirmed that the suspect was seen climbing onto the roof and lifting roof sheeting, confirming a business break-in in progress.

While crime is always a reality in any city, there’s some positive movement to report. For the week of 23–29 June, Atlas Security responded to 109 incidents—a 14.2% decrease compared to the previous week. This shows that our ongoing community vigilance and fast response are making a difference.
Successful Arrest During Burglary at Kariega School

Atlas Security and Kariega SAPS K9 Unit successfully apprehended a suspect hiding in the roof of a local school during a burglary. Stolen stationery and books were recovered, showcasing the power of collaboration in ensuring school safety.
