Swift Response Leads to Arrest in South End

Atlas Security Armed Response Officers Bravo 17 and Bravo 119 swiftly apprehended a suspect in South End after receiving an urgent call from a client on Pier Street. The suspect was caught in the act of stealing fibre cables from a manhole outside the complex.

Upon arrival, our officers tracked down the individual, who was found in possession of the stolen cables. The client, impressed by the rapid response, was able to positively identify the suspect. A case was opened with SAPS, ensuring that the necessary legal action was taken.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had accessed a manhole outside the complex to steal copper wiring. At the time of arrest, he was found with approximately three meters of copper wiring and a side cutter.

Upon arrival, our armed response team made contact with the property owner, who confirmed a positive incident in progress. The armed response officer promptly relayed updates to the Control Room and requested backup assistance. Bravo 11 and our RIU vehicle unit were dispatched and arrived shortly thereafter.
