Copper and Water Meter Theft on the Rise: Stay Alert, Stay ProtectedAtlas Security has noted a recent increase in copper theft and stolen water meters across multiple suburbs. This particular crime is not isolated to one area—suspects tend to target a neighbourhood, removing two to three water meters at a time before moving on to the next location.

On 15 November 2025, Atlas Security responded immediately to a panic alert from a client who reported three suspects breaking into a property at Hull Street. Armed Response Officer Bravo 57 entered the client’s premises, where he observed the kitchen door had been forced open. He intercepted and arrested the first suspect exiting the property.
