Atlas Security Responds to House Robbery in Kamma Heights

Crime

Atlas Security responded to a house robbery at a residence in Kamma Heights after receiving a call from the client to the control room. The incident, which occurred while the tenants were not home, involved two suspects who approached the property under false pretenses.

According to SAPS and on-scene reports, the suspects presented a document at the front door and claimed they needed to carry out work for the owner. The tenant’s two domestic workers, who were home at the time, opened the door and were confronted by an armed suspect. The workers were tied up and taken to the main bedroom while the suspects searched the home.

The suspects stole several valuables, including cellphones, laptops, jewelry, and a safe containing a legally owned firearm. CCTV footage from a neighbouring property captured a white Datsun Go leaving the scene.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. SAPS detectives and forensic teams are investigating further. Atlas Security officers remained on-site to assist until the investigation was handed over to police.

How to reduce your risk:
•? ?Always confirm the identity of anyone claiming to work at your property before opening the door, especially if you’re not expecting visitors.
•? ?If possible, make use of intercoms, security cameras, or other remote means to verify a visitor’s details before granting access.

Atlas Security encourages residents to report any suspicious activity immediately and to review security procedures with all household members and staff.
