Atlas Security Responds to Two House Robberies in Fairview and Summerstrand
Crime

In the past 48 hours, Atlas Security teams were called out to assist at two separate house robbery incidents in Aspen Road, Fairview and Amery Crescent, Summerstrand. Both incidents occurred during the early hours of the morning and, while no serious injuries were reported, they have understandably left the affected families feeling unsettled.
Fairview: Attempted Break-In and Quick Response
In the early hours of 29 May, two suspects gained entry to a home in Aspen Road, Fairview by removing a lounge window that did not have burglar bars. Once inside, a scuffle broke out between one of the suspects and the homeowner. The suspects then pepper-sprayed both the husband and wife before fleeing on foot.
Atlas Armed Response Officers B92 and B49 arrived shortly after the panic was activated and met with the family to secure the scene. SAPS arrived and a case was opened. Thankfully, no items were stolen, but the experience was distressing for the household involved.
Summerstrand: Family Held at Gunpoint
On 1 June, another incident was reported in Amery Crescent, Summerstrand. Two suspects, one armed, gained access to the home by entering through the back garden and forcing open a window after removing the burglar bars. The suspects confronted the homeowners in their bedroom and instructed them and their children to lie still. They took small personal items before leaving the property the same way they entered.
Atlas Armed Response Officers B16 and our area vehicles responded and remained on site until SAPS arrived. A case has been opened, and our thoughts are with the family who endured a traumatic experience.
These incidents are a reminder of how important it is to check and maintain physical security measures at home. Burglar bars, armed alarms, and external lighting are all key elements in keeping properties secure.
Atlas Security has increased patrol visibility in both areas and continues to work closely with SAPS to support ongoing investigations. We thank the residents involved for their cooperation and extend our support to them as they recover from these incidents. If you or a loved one ever feels unsafe, remember we are just a panic button away.
