Swift Arrest in Main Road, Walmer

In the early hours of Friday morning, a panic signal was received from a shop in Main Road, Walmer after two suspects were spotted acting suspiciously. One suspect attempted to distract the cashier by purchasing bread, while the other began stealing goods.

The cashier pressed the panic button, alerting Atlas Security. W4, which is one of the area vehicles for the Walmer area, responded immediately and intercepted the suspects near 10th Avenue and Prospect Road. W3, another Walmer area vehicle, provided backup.

When confronted, one suspect fled, leading to a chase through the streets. The suspect was blocked between 29 and 31 10th Avenue and quickly taken down.

W4, who had pursued on foot, cuffed the suspect and escorted him back to the shop. The suspect was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.

This arrest highlights the speed and coordination of Atlas Security’s Walmer vehicles working hand-in-hand with police to keep the community safe.
