In the early hours of the morning, swift action from Atlas Security Armed Response Officers led to the safe apprehension of a suspect found on the roof of a client’s premises.
Atlas Security’s Control Room received a panic signal from the property. While en route, the Control Room received further confirmation from the client that noises could be heard coming from the roof.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the client, and further inspection confirmed the presence of a suspect on the roof. Multiple Atlas Security Armed Response Officers, along with SAPS members, arrived on scene to assist. The suspect was safely brought down without any injuries.
The client opted not to open a case with SAPS as no damages were identified at the time. The suspect was taken into custody by SAPS members.
This incident highlights the quick response and coordination between Atlas Security and SAPS, ensuring the safety of our clients and community members at all times.

February 2026 saw Atlas Security respond to 378 incidents across Nelson Mandela Bay, reflecting a notable increase on the 258 incidents recorded in January. Theft-related crimes remained the dominant crime, while medical emergencies and burglaries also featured prominently. Despite the higher incident volume, our teams effected 27 arrests during the month, with all suspects handed over to SAPS.

Between 8 and 15 February 2026, Atlas Security responded to 110 incidents across Nelson Mandela Bay, excluding CCTV-generated alerts. This reflects a 20.9 percent increase compared to the previous reporting period, where 91 incidents were recorded.
