Crime Trends & Community Update: 23–29 June 2025

While crime is always a reality in any city, there’s some positive movement to report. For the week of 23–29 June, Atlas Security responded to 109 incidents, a 14.2% decrease compared to the previous week. This shows that our ongoing community vigilance and fast response are making a difference.

Theft remains the most common incident type, with burglary attempts and medical emergencies also featuring on the list. We saw the highest number of incidents reported on Wednesday, a reminder to stay alert throughout the week, but especially midweek.

The top five most affected areas this week:

  • Summerstrand (7 incidents)
  • Bothasrus (5)
  • Walmer (5)

On the other hand, Springfield, Cotswold, and Sherwood were the least affected, each with just one reported incident. Our teams were able to assist in several incidents that resulted in arrests, further supporting safer outcomes for our clients.

We remain focused on reducing risks through strong patrols, quick response, and community partnerships. Please continue to report anything suspicious, keep your security systems armed, and reach out to our control room if you need assistance or advice.

On a lighter note:
