19 Arrests in 5 Days: Atlas Security Clamps Down as Crime Peaks over Festive Season
AtlasSecurity has made 19 arrests in just five days, sending a clear message that criminal activity will not go unchecked as the festive and early-year period reaches its peak.
With December and January historically among the busiest months for crime, Atlas Security intensified its operations across high-risk areas, deploying round the clock RIU patrols supported by live CCTV monitoring and rapid Control Room coordination. The result has led to a decisive, intelligence-led response that led to multiple suspects being apprehended.
Recent arrests were recorded in several key areas. Central saw the highest activity, with five suspects taken into custody. Walmerarea followed closely, where four suspects were apprehended during separate incidents. Additional arrests were made within the Sidwell area, where two male suspects were detained,as well as Uitenhage and Despatch.
Several of the arrests were linked to trespassing and theft-related incidents, with suspects intercepted through a combination of real-time CCTV alerts, proactive patrols and swift on-scene response. In each case, AtlasSecurity teams acted decisively to locate, detain and hand suspects over to SAPS.
With 19 arrests in five days, these incidents truly reflect the impact of technology, our armed response teams and strategic deployment coming together to disrupt crime before it escalates.
As communities navigate a busy start to the year, Atlas Security remains highly visible, and on constant alert. These arrests serve as a reminder that while criminals may look for opportunity during peak seasons, Atlas Security continues to stand firm in its commitment to protecting lives, property and the communities it serves 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
