Between 29 June and 5 July, Atlas Security responded to 89 incidents across Nelson Mandela Bay, from theft and burglary to medical emergencies and vehicle accidents.
These are the call-outs our own teams attended, not the full crime picture for the metro, but they give a good sense of what has been happening in the neighbourhoods we serve.
Theft was the most common issue this week, with 26 confirmed cases and a further 12 attempts. Burglary followed close behind, 11 confirmed break-ins and 8 attempts, split fairly evenlybetween homes and businesses. Medical emergencies made up a large share too, 15 in total, most of them at residential properties.
On the more serious side, there were three robbery-related incidents, two robberies of a person and one house robbery, along with a handful of fires, vehicle recoveries, trespassing case sand assaults.
Monday 29 June was the busiest day of the week with 20 call-outs, while things were quieter on Tuesday 30June.
Summerstrand recorded the most activity this week with 9 incidents, followed by Newton Park with 6 and Walmer with 4. At the other end of the scale, most suburbs across the metro logged just one incident each, a reminder that no area is entirely free of risk, eventhe quieter ones.

A Few Things You Can Do
• If you're in one of the busier areas this week, take amoment to check that your gates, locks and alarm are all working, and let your neighbours know if you spot anything unusual.
• Theft and burglary attempts often start with an easy target, valuables left in view or a gate left open, so a quick walk around your property can make a real difference.
• If you see something suspicious, don't wait. Report it to us on 0861 585 585 so we can respond straight away.
Atlas Security will keep patrolling, responding andworking alongside our clients and the wider community to keep Nelson Mandela Bay safe.

An encouraging week for our response teams
June 30, 2026
The numbers we are sharing here tell one part of a bigger story. They reflect the incidents Atlas Security responded to across Nelson Mandela Bay, not every crime reported to SAPS or attended by other security companies. With that in mind, this past week was an encouraging one.
