Swift Response Leads to Arrest Following Adam Street, Kariega Break-In
Crime

This morning, Atlas Security’s armed response team was instrumental in the apprehension of a suspect following a burglary incident in Adam Street, Valleisig, Kariega. The incident unfolded when members of the public alerted Atlas Security through social media, reporting a suspect seen jumping out of a property. The information was promptly relayed to AC1, who coordinated with U3, while U1 was dispatched to assist.
Upon arrival at the scene, AC1 and the public provided U1 (B11) with a description of the suspect and the direction in which he fled. While patrolling Aaron Street, U1 spotted an individual matching the description and promptly detained the suspect.
The suspect was found in possession of copper taps, which were identified by the property owner as stolen items. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had broken into the property via the back storage shed, where he stole electrical equipment. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the suspect had dropped a light blue striped bag containing the equipment while attempting to flee. The bag and its contents were recovered just outside the property.
Kariega SAPS U15 arrived on the scene shortly after the arrest, taking the suspect into custody. A formal case was registered with the complainant.
This incident highlights the importance of community vigilance and the effectiveness of quick coordination between the public, Atlas Security, and SAPS. Atlas Security remains committed to ensuring the safety of our clients and the broader community.

Increased Business Break-Ins: Why Active Keyholders Are More Important Than Ever
December 23, 2025
Atlas Security has recently seen a sharp increase in business break-ins, particularly within industrial areas. Factories, warehouses and commercial premises that are closed after hours are increasingly being targeted by opportunistic criminals who know these sites are often quiet and unattended. During several recent incidents, our Control Room has experienced difficulty contacting registered keyholders when alerts are activated. In some instances, phones go unanswered or no keyholder is available to attend site when access is required. This significantly slows the response process and in high-risk incidents, delays increase exposure and risk.
