Swift Response Leads to Arrest Following Adam Street, Kariega Break-In

This morning, Atlas Security’s armed response team was instrumental in the apprehension of a suspect following a burglary incident in Adam Street, Valleisig, Kariega. The incident unfolded when members of the public alerted Atlas Security through social media, reporting a suspect seen jumping out of a property. The information was promptly relayed to AC1, who coordinated with U3, while U1 was dispatched to assist.
Upon arrival at the scene, AC1 and the public provided U1 (B11) with a description of the suspect and the direction in which he fled. While patrolling Aaron Street, U1 spotted an individual matching the description and promptly detained the suspect.
The suspect was found in possession of copper taps, which were identified by the property owner as stolen items. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had broken into the property via the back storage shed, where he stole electrical equipment. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the suspect had dropped a light blue striped bag containing the equipment while attempting to flee. The bag and its contents were recovered just outside the property.
Kariega SAPS U15 arrived on the scene shortly after the arrest, taking the suspect into custody. A formal case was registered with the complainant.

Earlier today Atlas Security’s Control Room received a panic signal from a residential premises. Upon arrival, our armed response team made contact with the property owner, who confirmed a positive incident in progress. The armed response officer promptly relayed updates to the Control Room and requested backup assistance. Bravo 11 and our RIU vehicle unit were dispatched and arrived shortly thereafter.

Between 8 and 15 February 2026, Atlas Security responded to 110 incidents across Nelson Mandela Bay, excluding CCTV-generated alerts. This reflects a 20.9 percent increase compared to the previous reporting period, where 91 incidents were recorded.
