Suspects Arrested Following CCTV Cable Theft in Greenacres

A swift, coordinated operation between Atlas Security’s CCTV Control Room, Rapid Intervention Units and Armed Response Officers led to the successful apprehension of three suspects linked to a cable theft incident in Greenacres on Sunday afternoon.
Live CCTV tracking, combined with the rapid response of Bravo 20,Bravo 66 and Bravo 75, played a critical role in the arrests and recovery of the stolen cables.
While conducting routine CCTV monitoring and completing scheduled camera checks in the Greenacres area, an Atlas Security CCTV operator noticed that a manhole in Rochelle Road appeared to be open. Suspecting possible tampering, the CCTV operator immediately conducted playback footage review and discovered that suspects had opened the manhole earlier in the day.
Atlas Security armed response units were being dispatched to investigate, the suspect returned to the scene in full live view and began stealing underground cables. Live CCTV tracking immediately followed the suspect’s movements while critical updates were relayed directly to Bravo 20, Bravo 66 and Bravo 75 responding on the ground.
Armed Response units, including the Rapid Intervention Units immediately flooded the area. During the search, our armed response officers spotted a suspect matching the description provided by CCTV operators and successfully apprehended him. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to handing the stolen cables to two accomplices nearby.
Additional Atlas Security members continued the search and located the remaining two suspects in the Perridgevale area. All three suspects were detained and the stolen cables were recovered.
