The report came in at 06:56 after a suspect returned to the scene, attempting to steal copper pipes. One of the residents pursued the suspect while Atlas Security was notified.

Atlas Security Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched, with multiple units en route, including Bravo 75, Bravo 123, and Bravo 8. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the suspect, identifiable by a yellow beanie, had fled towards Community Road. Armed Response Officer Bravo 8 later confirmed that the suspect was apprehended in Community Road. A knife was found in the suspect’s possession.

The client was notified of the arrest and arranged to meet the response team on-site. SAPS was contacted, and a unit was dispatched. The suspect was identified as being involved in a previous theft of copper pipes from properties in Settlers Villas the night before. The affected clients were also present at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that the same suspect had returned to steal the remaining copper pipes at the back of the property. A resident from the complex gave chase before Bravo 123 successfully apprehended the suspect in Community Road.
