Six Down. One Weekend. The Atlas Effect in Action.
Crime

Over the long weekend, Atlas Security made sure Nelson Mandela Bay belonged to its residents, not to those who would target them.
While families were settling into the long weekend, a different kind of operation was unfolding across the metro. Six arrests in three days, with our teams active across Walmer, Cotswold, North End, Summerstrand, Perridgevale and Central. This is what proactive security looks like when intelligence, training and decisive action come together.
It started at a popular shopping mall in Walmer. A panic activation, a fleeing suspect, and an armed response that turned a brazen theft into a coordinated pursuit across multiple suburbs. Atlas Security armed response officers tracked the vehicle through changing routes, fed live intelligence into the network, and stayed on the suspect until the arrest was made. Recovered on scene: stolen goods, an unlicensed firearm, and charges that will keep this individual off the streets.
In Summerstrand, a homeowner spotted movement in her back yard. Within minutes, our armed response officers and Rapid Intervention Unit had the suspect contained. Summerstrand has been a hotspot for too long, and arrests like this one matter. They send a message, they shift the numbers, and they give residents back the feeling of safety they deserve in their own homes.
Then Cotswold. A break-in in progress. The homeowner was hours away in Jeffreys Bay when our officers arrived to find an intruder already inside the property. Permission was granted, entry was made, and the suspect was apprehended hiding in the garage. SAPS arrived to take him into custody.
Three incidents detailed here. Six arrests in total over the weekend, with further apprehensions made in North End, Perridgevale and Central as our teams responded across the metro. Every one of those arrests means a family or business that ended the weekend safer than they started it.
This is what sets Atlas Security apart. It’s not about reacting to crime after it happens. It’s about gathering sharp intelligence in real time, sharing it across our network, and putting armed response officers on scene who have the experience to act decisively when seconds count. Our Rapid Intervention Unit, our control room, and our armed response officers in the field work as one team with one focus: protecting the communities we serve.
More than 40 years of doing this work has taught us something simple. Criminals look for soft targets. Atlas Security makes sure they don’t find them.
Six arrests this weekend. And we’re just getting started.
