DOUBLE ARREST IN SUMMERSTRAND: SUSPECTS CAUGHT HIDING INSIDE TARGETED HOME

Crime

A coordinated early-morning response by Atlas Security led to two suspects being apprehended on site after a residential break-in was reported in Summerstrand.

Atlas Security received a phone-in alert during the early hours on Friday morning reporting suspects actively breaking into a residence in the Summerstrand area. The signal was immediately prioritised and escalated, with armed response units dispatched without delay.

As the situation developed, Armed Response Officer Bravo 20 arrived on site and took control of the scene, working alongside supporting armed response units and coordinating with the Control Room.

Upon further investigation, clear signs of a break-in were identified.

With authorisation granted by the client, our armed response officers made the decision to force entry into a locked section of the home where suspects were believed to be hiding.

Two suspects were located inside the main bedroom, one concealed under the bed and the other hiding in a cupboard within the en-suite. Both suspects were apprehended on site before they could flee.

Findings on scene revealed the suspects had gained access through a vulnerable entry point at the rear of the property, exploiting a previously compromised window to enter the home.

SAPS was notified and responded to the scene, where both suspects were handed over for further processing and investigation.

The actions of Armed Response Officer Bravo 20 and supporting units ensured that what began as a reported break-in was contained and concluded with two arrests on scene.
