Crime Down. Guards Up. NMB Had a Better Week.

Crime

Atlas Security teams were active right across Nelson Mandela Bay during the week of 23 to 29 March 2026, responding to 83 incidents over seven days.

That is a decline of 18.6% compared to the 102 incidents recorded the previous week..

Of the 83 incidents, 48 were at residential properties and 35 at commercial premises.

What Our Teams Responded To:

Theft remained the leading incident type for the week, accounting for 23 callouts. Confirmed burglaries followed at 18, with a further 13 theft attempts and 9 attempted burglaries. Medical emergencies accounted for 7 responses, while vehicle accidents required 6 callouts. There were 3 robberies of persons, 1 armed robbery, 2 fires, and 1 case of vandalism.

Walmer was the most active suburb for the week with 8 incidents, followed by North End (6) and Gqeberha Central (5). In total, Atlas Security teams responded across 48 different suburbs, an indication of just how broadly our teams operate across the metro.

A 18.6% drop week-on-week is encouraging, but crime does not take a week off, and neither do we. If you are not yet protected by Atlas Security armed response, now is the time to change that.

April 28, 2026

Over the long weekend, Atlas Security made sure Nelson Mandela Bay belonged to its residents, not to those who would target them. Six arrests in three days, with our teams active across Walmer, Cotswold, North End, Summerstrand, Perridgevale and Central. This is what proactive security looks like when intelligence, training and decisive action come together.
