AtlasVision Delivers: Two Suspects Arrested Following AI Camera Alert

Crime

It was just before sunrise when AtlasVision did what it does best.

At 06:38, Atlas Security’s AI-powered camera system flagged suspicious activity at a client’s premises on Campbell Street. Two suspects were detected simultaneously, one on the driveway and another already inside the yard. Within three minutes, our armed response team was on scene.

Bravo 99 arrived first and held position, listening carefully. He could hear movement at the back of the property and immediately called for backup. Bravo 17 and additional units responded without hesitation.

Bravo 99 moved in and arrested the first suspect in a nearby street, simultaneously relaying a clothing description to the rest of the responding team. Bravo 17 began tracking the second suspect on foot along Russell Road. As the pursuit unfolded, a SAPS vehicle came up Russell Road and cut off the fleeing suspect. Bravo 17 and SAPS worked together to bring him in. Both suspects were secured.

On inspection of the property, copper piping had been taken. The suspects had also attempted to remove gas bottles but were unable to, given the size and weight. All stolen copper was recovered. A case has since been opened, and our team remained on site to see it through.

Two suspects. Three minutes. Zero tolerance.
