Armed Response and SAPS Act Swiftly After Early-Morning House Robbery in Kamma Heights
Crime

Atlas Security responded to a house robbery in Kamma Heights, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, after suspects gained entry to a property and confronted a family member inside.
The alarm was triggered at 02:51, when Atlas Security's control room received an activation from a family member reporting that intruders had broken into the home. A response vehicle was dispatched immediately, arriving on scene within minutes.
According to reports from the scene, suspects climbed over the property's front wall before making their way to a downstairs room, where they forced open a sliding door to gain entry. Once inside, they were confronted by a family member and, in the process, fired a shotgun, wounding him in the upper right arm.
Atlas Security's on-scene team provided immediate first aid, stopping the bleeding before paramedics arrived.
Multiple Atlas Security response units, along with SAPS, attended the scene. A case has been opened with police, who are continuing their investigation with the assistance of CCTV footage obtained from a neighbouring property. At this stage, only a cellphone is confirmed to have been taken.
The team at Atlas Security extends its thoughts to the family and wishes the injured party a full and speedy recovery.
Atlas Security continues to encourage residents to review home security measures, including perimeter fencing and access points, and to ensure alarm systems are tested regularly.
