A Robbery, A Pursuit, An Arrest: Inside Atlas Security's RIU Response

It started with a call no driver ever wants to make. A driver, robbed at gunpoint in 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤, his keys, phone and wallet taken by armed suspects who vanished into 𝐒𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤.

Our 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐬 didn’t let them get far. CCTV footage from 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 picked up the vehicle, a grey Amarok, moving through the area. Hours later it surfaced again, this time in 𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞, 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫. That’s when Atlas Security Armed Response Officer Bravo 10 made the call that mattered: get eyes on, and don’t lose him.

What followed was a tense, rolling pursuit across the southern suburbs, 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝, 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞, 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝, and onto 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝, with the suspect weaving through traffic and robots trying to shake the tail. Knowing the occupants were reported to be armed, Officer Bravo 10 held a safe distance while keeping the vehicle in sight, calling in backup to close the net.

The suspect pushed on through 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐭 and into 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞, unaware that Atlas vehicles were now converging from every direction. There, our teams boxed the Amarok in. Two occupants detained on the spot, no shots fired, no one hurt, vehicle and suspects handed straight over to SAPS.
