Atlas Security responded to 91 incidents across Nelson Mandela Bay between 13 and 19 July, with commercial properties accounting for the bulk of the week's activity at 55 incidents against 36 at residential addresses.
Theft remained the most common call-out at 29 incidents, followed by attempted theft (15) and burglary attempts (13). Positive Burglary and medical emergencies were tied at 9 each, and our teams also responded to 6 vehicle related incidents.

Saturday 18 July was the busiest day of the week with 19 incidents recorded, while things were noticeably quieter midweek on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Newton Park saw the most activity this week with 7 incidents, followed by Walmer (6), and Sidwell and Fairview (5 each). Twenty suburbs across the Bay recorded just a single incident each, a reminder that no area is completely without risk.
A few reminders for residents and businesses this week: arm your alarm every time you leave, even for short trips. Report anything suspicious to our control room immediately, quick reporting helps us respond faster. And keep gates, doors and windows secured, especially overnight and during those quieter midweek hours.

An encouraging week for our response teams
June 30, 2026
The numbers we are sharing here tell one part of a bigger story. They reflect the incidents Atlas Security responded to across Nelson Mandela Bay, not every crime reported to SAPS or attended by other security companies. With that in mind, this past week was an encouraging one.
