Summerstrand EXT 10 CCTV Project

Atlas Security is excited to launch the upgrade project of the Summerstrand EXT 10 CCTV Project to take the safety of residents to the next level. The Atlas Security team on the ground has been doing an incredible job of providing the highest level of Armed Response services to our clients. Now it is time to put virtual eyes on the ground and elevate this area to a state-of-the-art proactive security solution.

We are upgrading all the cameras in the area from the old Electronic Patrol Service (EPS) to new and improved technology, transforming the network into a modern, analytical, proactive system designed to nudge potential criminals out of the area before following through with any acts.

A Call to Recommit

This is a call to all existing contributors to recommit to the project.

In order to implement the full upgrade and move to the new analytical platform, we require an additional 30 commitments of R150 per month, over and above the current contributors.

A monthly contribution will be required to cover the costs and contributors will be required to sign a 3-year contract.

Contribution to the project is open to any resident of Summerstrand EXT 10 and not only to Atlas Security clients. We believe this solution benefits the entire community.

How the New Technology Works

The upgraded cameras will be analytical human detection cameras. This means that within pre-set parameters, the cameras will detect human movement and immediately send an alert to our Control Centre.

Our trained CCTV operators will assess the activation in real time. If the movement is deemed suspicious, Armed Response will be dispatched immediately.

With this type of solution, the goal is to prevent crime BEFORE it occurs. This creates what we call a “nudging” effect. Individuals with criminal intent quickly realise that Armed Response vehicles respond whenever movement is detected during the night. The risk becomes too high, ultimately forcing criminal activity out of the area.
